Isometrics, 16 CE Hours (16 units Ortho-Bionomy)
Pre-requisite: 16 units Phase 4. Recommended 32 units Phase 4.
Workshop location: Scroll down for specific workshop locations and details.Ortho-Bionomy Isometrics is not the Isometrics you know. Often, muscles remain chronically tight because the agonist/antagonoist muscle coordination is not balanced. For clients who have habituated muscle tension, old injuries, scar tissue, chronic pain, underdeveloped muscular patterns and muscle pattern flacidity, difficulty letting go, for areas that have a lot of emotional charge, for clients who are very active, Ortho-Bionomy Isometrics has been very effective. Applying the principles of Ortho-Bionomy safely stimulates the self-correcting reflex, expands range of motion and stabilizes a balanced structure. Releases happen fast, change is often dramatic. Isometrics empower the client. Clients actively participate in their own releases and are able to safely engage muscles that pain has restricted. This conscious use of obstacles promotes change from stasis to mobility. Techniques will be demonstrated, discussed, experienced and practiced for the entire body.
“Often, when the client isn’t maintaining the results gained in the session, isometrics has helped clients to increase range of motion and improve function for the long-term. Just recently, I worked with a client who couldn’t tuck in her shirt or reach behind her at all. Isometrics increased range of motion 45 degrees in one session. Of course, other work was done for the neck, ribcage and spine, but the results achieved with isometrics were dramatic. She was very grateful and we were both thrilled. I love Ortho-Bionomy because it works so well and offers such a comprehensive toolbox” Ann Hoeffel
